Mario Tolentino – Chairman and President

Mario Tolentino, Chairman of CRISTINA’S WINGS is also serving as its first President. With 21 years at Chubb, Mario currently works with Multinational Risk Group. Mario earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at San Sebastian College in Manila, with major in Economics. Mario resides in Morristown, NJ. Mario loves to travel and experience various cultures and local traditions which he did in many occasions with Cristina. Mario’s goal is to continue the legacy and mission of Cristina by establishing a foundation that provides financial assistance to poor and deserving students through scholarship Programs. In CRISTINA’S WINGS, her mission will be accomplished.

Bob Loesner – Director

Bob Loesner is serving his first term as a member of the board of trustees. Bob is currently a project manager for the consulting firm of The Newport Group, Charlotte, NC. He has nearly 20 years experience in the financial services industry, spending a majority of his career in Prudential’s information technology divisions. A graduate of Fairliegh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Bob is also a licensed insurance broker holding NASD designations Series 7, 63, and 65. Currently residing in Charlotte, NC, Bob’s many activities include snowboarding, ice hockey, and fishing. Having met Cristina while working at Prudential where they became fast friends and lasting relationship, Bob looks forward to serving on the board and with the Tolentino family.

Maria Lopez - Director

Maria M. Lopez was a graduate of Centro Escolar University in Manila, , majoring in Elementary Education  Maria taught 5th grade.  Maria works for Verizon for 26 years, after a year of coming to the U.S.  You will also see Maria at the front desk of St. Barnabas Hospital during the weekends.  With her hectic schedule, Maria finds time to read, her favorite hobby.  She travels with husband Frank and son Leonard to Canada to visit her sisters and brother.  She remembers hanging out with Cristina at her third floor apartment, having good conversations and wine;  and weekend trip to flea markets. 

Brigett Reyes - Director

Brigett Reyes was a Bachelor of Arts graduate of St. Paul College QC, with major in Psychology.   While in the Philippines, Brigett has held jobs at Tancho Corporation, Great Pacific Life Insuranace and Napocor (National Power Corporation Philippines).  She held a life insurance agent’s license in the Philippines.  With her sister Marilyn and with the help from brother Rommie and sisters Cristina and Agnes, Brigett opened a boutique in the posh Greenhills Shopping Center.  Prior to immigrating to the U.S., Brigett managed the travel agency arm of A&A Trading.  Until her current job in the Surety Dept of Chubb & Son, Brigett practiced her college major as a part-time Activity Asst. Coordinator at Troy Hills Nursing.  Brigett felt so lucky to have spent a lot of time with Cristina during her last days.  Brigett and her family drove Cristina to High Point, NJ where they spent a wonderful time strolling through the highest part of NJ.  Cristina’s last picture taken with Brigett was in this place.  As sisters, both Brigett and Cristina shared mutual admirations for one another.

Marissa Schulz – Director

Marissa Schulz holds a degree in Nursing and is currently practicing in the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona.  While not working at the reservation, Marissa goes home to Texas to visit with family and friends.  A cousin to Cristina, Marissa remembers the annual visit she had with Cristina and her family.  Marissa always goes home with fond memories of Cris and other cousins. 

Agnes Smith – Director and Vice President

Agnes Smith, Board of Trustee, holds a nursing degree from Winifred B. Baldwin School of Nursing in Orange, NJ.  Married 19 years to Christopher, they have two children, Samantha and Matthew.  They reside in Lake Hiawatha, NJ.  Having been with the East Orange General Hospital for 18 years, Agnes is currently working in its Recovery Room.  Agnes loves to cook, a trait she learned from Cristina.  With this new talent, Agnes now holds regular lunch and dinner parties and bingo sessions for her family, friends and relatives.  Agnes and her family traveled a lot with Cristina, spending a lot of time at quaint bed & breakfasts and hotels along the Eastern Seaboard, from Maine to Florida.  Agnes considers Cristina her other Wing, which helps her ‘fly’ everyday.

Marilyn Sy – Director

Marilyn Sy finished college at the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and is board certified in the Philippines.  Marilyn worked for eight years in Quezon City Health Department as its Public Health Nutritionist.   Marilyn is married to William and blessed with five children:  Michael, Chiqui, Yna, Gregor and Therese.  She adopted Cristina’s “son” An-Di which makes her family complete.  Marilyn developed a more meaningful sister-to-sister relationship with Cristina when she took care of her during Cristina’s radiation treatment in Illinois in 1997.  Marilyn and Cristina often talked about going on a Pilgrimage after her treatment.  A mini-pilgrimage happened in 2000 when they, along with brother Rommie, went to Spain, Fatima (Portugal) and Lourdes (France).  Marilyn and Cristina bonded during this trip and opened a line to a serious communication (about life and about Cristina’s condition).  Marilyn remembers the very nice 2004 Christmas dinner that Cristina prepared for them.  “Although Cristina was in pain, she made a sumptuous dinner that everyone loved and enjoyed.”

Manuel Tolentino – Director

Manuel Tolentino is a graduate of Philippine College of Commerce.  Like Cristina, Manuel started working at a young age as an accountant at a Food Storage firm in suburban Manila.  Manuel is enjoying his semi-retirement as the proud grandfather to Caitlin Bernadette.  Married for 33 years to Rosita, they still enjoy their weekends together with their daughter Celeste and husband Marlon and two sons, Francis and Joseph.  Manuel and his family remember Cristina as the classy and smart lady whose personality exudes wherever she went and with a great singing voice that they adored. 

Greg Tolentino Jr. - Director

Greg Tolentino, Jr. is the founder of Southern Cook Radiation Oncology, Blue Island, Illinois. A graduate of Manila’s Santo Tomas University’s Medical School, Greg was board certified in Therapeutic Radiology in the U.S. after doing his internship and residency at the Deaconess Hospital and Rush-St. Luke’s Presbyterian Medical Center in Milwaukee and Chicago, respectively. Greg is listed as one of the Nation’s Top Doctors by the Consumer’s Checkbook Guide to Top Doctors (1999, 2004); and is a member of various Radiology societies and groups in the U.S. Greg was knighted by the Knight of Malta in November 2004. When not doing his rounds, Greg can be found on Chicago’s weekend dance clubs and parties showing his ballroom prowess with his wife, Melinda, and hitting the fairways. A good brother to Cristina, Greg was also her medical advisor during her bout with cancer.

Rommie Tolentino - Director

Rommie Tolentino was an employee of Verizon Communications for 31 years until his retirement in November 2003. Rommie was graduated from Adamson University, Manila, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. Rommie resides in with his wife Cora in Florham Park, NJ, which he calls home for more than 30 years, after spending a few years in Roselle. Rommie is enjoying being a grandfather to Skye Juliet, Gabriel James and Mia Cristina (from daughter Abby and husband Mark Lazur); and Jason Cedrik and Nya (from son Mark and wife Rachel Brady). Rommie took part of his early retirement days taking Cristina to New York for her doctors’ appointments in which she was very happy and appreciative. Travelling overseas with Cristina, Rommie found it very wonderful and exciting experience, as not only Cristina was a knowledgeable guide, she was also a wonderful food critic, two of the many wonderful qualities of Cristina. Rommie is the eldest of nine children; Cristina was the youngest.

Willie Tolentino - Director

Willie Tolentino is currently working at Bio-Chem Valve, Inc. in Boonton, NJ.  This job is a totally new experience for Willie having worked within the telecommunications industry in the Philippines and Saudi Arabia.  While a telephone repairman in Saudi Arabia, his job took him to various cities within the Kingdom, including Riyadh and Damman.  Willie has two grandchildren (Theo and Valein) from son Oliver and wife Maja; and two daughters, Trina and Ana.  Willie is happily settled in the Dover/Rockaway area of Morris County, NJ, and loves to garden.  Like his other siblings, Willie loves to cook.  This love was shared with Cristina during her illness.   

Carlos Rivadelo – Secretary

Carlos Rivadelo, Secretary of Cristina’s Wings, is a Bachelor of Science graduate of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.   Carlos love to travel and drive to unfamiliar places, explore things and loves listening to “smooth” jazz.    “The Antiques Roadshow” is Carlos’ favorite TV show and gets excited when vintage baseball cards are shown.  Carlos met Cristina in a family gathering and from there on the meeting not only became an acquaintance but blossomed into a friendship; a friendship that “I would cherished forever,” according to Carlos.

Jim Reyes – Treasurer

Jim Reyes is serving his first term as Treasurer. He is currently working with the Loan Administration Unit of the Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. New York Branch.  Jim is married to Brigett T. Reyes and has two sons, Carlo (29) and Deejay Reyes (27).  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree (1973) major in Business Management from the Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City, Philippines.  He also has earned a diploma in business programming and web development from The Chubb Institute in October 2002.  Jim loves to travel and meet up with friends from Florida all the way up to Toronto, Canada.

Redenta White - Director of Public Relations

Redenta White, is serving her first term as Director of Public Relations, a  newly created officer position  in the organization.  With 21 years at Chubb, Redenta currently works as the Administrator of Global Virtual Conferencing Services (GVCS).  Previous positions include working in the FTS/Systems Implementation Group and in the Strategic Planning & Budgeting areas.  Redenta earned her Bachelor of Science at the National Teachers College in Manila, Phlippines with major in Elementary Education.  Redenta lives in Randolph, NJ.  Redenta loves to garden, travel and experience various cultures.  Redenta's goal is to continue the legacy and mission of CRISTINA'S WINGS by raising awareness about the foundation that provides financial assistance to financially challenged and deserving students through Scholarship Programs.
